KSET Provisitional Result 2024

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) hereby publishes the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET) Results conducted on 24 November, 2024. K-SET results are published in compliance with the UGC Guidelines and State's Reservation policy.

KEA has conducted K-SET 2024 on behalf of the State of Karnataka for determining the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professorship in the State of Karnataka. It has conducted the K-SET 2024 for Assistant Professorship for the Second time on 24th November, 2024.

The KSET-2024 was conducted in offline mode for 41 Subjects in a Single Phase at twelve district Centres across the state for 1,06,433 candidates. 89,416 candidates have appeared for both the papers (Paper I and Paper II) in the test conducted.

In order to make the examination system transparent, the Provisional Answer Key(s) were hosted on the KEA website http://kea.kar.nic.in and objections were invited. The objections received were verified by the experts and results were processed as per the answer keys finalized by the experts. The provisional scores were also notified on 16.12.2024 for the information of the candidates.

The merit list has been prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates, according to the UGC formula and the State Reservation Policy.

Step 1: The number of candidates to be qualified (total slots) for Eligibility for Assistant Professorship shall be equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II) of KSET.

Step 2: The total number of slots as per Step 1 are split and merit lists prepared subject- wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of the two papers secured by the candidates (in (Paper I and Paper il put together).

Step 3: To get qualified for 'Eligibility for Assistant Professor', the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and have secured at least 40% (120/300 marks) aggregate marks taken together for General (Unreserved) category candidates and at least 35% (105/300 marks) aggregate marks taken together for candidates belonging to the reserved categories (viz., SC, ST,Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, PWD and Transgender) (belonging to Non- Creamy Layer).

In the splitting process, the nearest whole number obtained as per the SET Guidelines gives the number of slots in that subject. If the number of slots obtained is less than one but greater than zero however small it may be, it is taken as one, i.e., a minimum of one slot is to be awarded. However, for fractions greater than one, the figure is rounded off to the nearest whole number.

Further, as per UGC Guidelines for SET, in any subject under any category, all candidates with cut-off percentage in that subject are to be included in the qualified list, even if it exceeds the number of slots available.

Therefore the total number of qualified candidates in all the subjects in all categories put together or the number of candidates qualified in any subject under any category may be more than the number of available slots in any subject under any category.

Thus, 6302 candidates are qualified in the eligibility test in 41 subjects in all categories put together, as against the total available slots of 5,365 (6% of 89,416, the total number of candidates appeared in both the papers).

The K-SET 2024 Results computed as above are published for the information of candidates.

The Detailed Provisional KSET 2024 results, including the subject-wise and Category-wise number of candidates registered, appeared, eligible and not eligible; subject-wise and category-wise number of candidates who have secured 40% or more marks in aggregate under GM, and 35% or more marks in aggregate in the reserved categories; subject-wise and category-wise number of slots available; and the number of candidates qualified and cutoff marks in each subject and category, and also the Application Numbers of the candidates who are Qualified in different categories in all the 41 subjects are published on the website of KEA.
