ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO THE VACANT SEATS IN THE 6TH CLASS AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-25
With regard to the above matter and reference, a total of 41,110 seats are available for Class 6 admission for the year 2024-25 in 807 Morarji Desai/Kittur Rani Chennamma/Eklavya Model/Atal Bihari Vajpayee/Shri Narayan Guru Residential Schools under Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Association. In reference (01) of the government order Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Association has entrusted the Karnataka Examination Authority (CET Cell) to conduct the entrance test and seat allocation for the 6th class admission of the residential schools operating under its jurisdiction. Total 20555 seats available for general seat allotment through computerized auto selection are allotted through five rounds of seat allotment considering the marks (merit), applicable reservation and residential school preference mentioned by them. Apart from this, 20555 seats are available for allotment of special category students, out of which seats have been allotted to candidates who have applied for KEA and candidates who have applied online have been allotted seats without entrance test. For 2024-25, 40909 seats out of total 41110 seats for class 6 have been allotted and 201 seats are pending.
In reference (02) government order has given approval and order to allot 75% reservation to local candidates of all taluks and 25% to candidates from other taluks of the state in 6th class admission in residential schools operating under the association of Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions on the condition of getting certificate of local candidate.
Refer(03) Govt order for Special Categories Safai Karmachari/ Recognized Manual Scavenger/ Rag Pickers/ Children of Graveyard Workers/ Child Labourers/ Children of Indentured Labourers/ Children of Ex-Devadasis identified/ Children with more than 25% Handicap/ HIV. Children of affected parents, single parent children or orphans/identified nomadic/semi-nomadic/micro-ultra sensitive community/children of soldiers and ex-servicemen/children of parents displaced by government schemes/scheduled castes/scheduled tribes who have passed class 5 in ashram residential schools % Direct admission for 50% seats (20555 seats) has been approved and ordered.
In the Government's letter referred to (4) a wide publicity was given to fill up the seats for special categories, fixing the last date till 31st July and taking steps to fill them up. Then all the seats of special category and general category will be selected on the basis of merit on the basis of reserved additional selection list by Karnataka Examination Authority by August-7 and directed to fill up 100 percent of the seats.
To maintain the ratio of 75:25 for local/non-local candidates in the single file submitted to the Government in reference (5). If qualified candidates are not available according to the said ratio, they will be given instructions to consider the qualified candidates from other districts.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority has given complete information about the district-wise, taluk-wise, class-wise and marks obtained by the candidates who have not been allotted seats and the rank has been allotted on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates appearing in the entrance examination, and the details are attached with this letter.
