Karnataka Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

In exercise of the Powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Registration of

Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023 the Government of Karnataka, with the approval of the

Central Government hereby makes, the following rules, further to amend the Karnataka Registration

of Births and Deaths Rules 1999, Namely.

RULES

1. Title & Commencement – (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Registration of Births and

Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 9: In the Karnataka Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 1999, in rule 9, in

sub-rule (1), for the words “Rupees Two” the words “Rupees One Hundred” shall be substituted.

3. Amendment of rule 9: In the Karnataka Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 1999, in rule 9, in

sub-rule (2) for the words “Rupees Five” the words “Rupees Two Hundred and on production of

self-attested document electronically or otherwise, as per form number 14”shall be substituted.

4. Amendment of rule 9: In the Karnataka Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 1999, in rule 9, in

sub-rule (3) for the words ‘‘a Magistrate of the first class or a Presidency Magistrate’’ the words

and brackets ‘‘an Assistant Commissioner (Sub-Divisional Magistrate)’’ shall be substituted. For

the words “Rupees Ten” the words “Rupees Five Hundred” shall be substituted.
