According to the UNWTO, the theme for the World Tourism Day 2023 --'Tourism and green investment'—highlights the need for more and better-targeted investments for the sustainable development goals. World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on September 27 to promote the tourism all over the world.

*ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 27-ವಿಶ್ವ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ದಿನ(World Tourism Day):*

*ಪ್ರವಾಸ ಎಂದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಇಷ್ಟ ಕಾರಣ ಅದು ಹಲವು ವೈವಿದ್ಯತೆಗಳ ಪರಿಚಯ & ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.ಮೈಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಗೊಳಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸದ ಪಾತ್ರ ದೊಡ್ಡದು. ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ, ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ದಿನ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.*

*ದೇಶ ಸುತ್ತು-ಕೋಶ ಓದು ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಈ ದಿನ ಸದಾ ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗುವ ಅನುಭವ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಓದುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನದು ಎಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು ಪ್ರವಾಸ ಎಂದರೆ ಅದು ಕೇವಲ ಸುತ್ತಾಟವಲ್ಲ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕಲಿಕೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮವು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.*

*1997 ರಿಂದ ಅಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿಶ್ವ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ 1980ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆಪ್ಟಂಬರ್ 27ನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮ ದಿನವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿತು.ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮವು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸೇವಾ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮವು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸೇವಾ ವಲಯವಾಗಿದೆ.*
